FAQs

How much experience do you need for camping jobs?

If you don't have copious amounts of experience in your activity, there’s no need to worry. You’ll be teaching kids who are just there to have fun - most will even be complete beginners. You’ll also be fully trained before your campers arrive, and you’ll be supported by the other counsellors at your camp throughout the summer.

Will I get days off in between trips?

Of course! Everyone needs time to recharge their batteries after an exciting but hectic week at camp. You'll have days off, as well as the opportunity to explore the local area and further afield. Most camps will give you a 24 hour block of free time every week, whilst some others provide 2-4 days off in a row every few weeks.

Will I need to bring any camping equipment?

Summer camps should provide most equipment and deliver it to the campsite, so no need to pack a bag full of tents! You will be expected to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, but your camp will let you know the finer details before you go.
