Your first step is to hit the 'Apply now' button to begin your application.

Before you do, make sure to read more about the roles at camp and check you're eligible for Camp Leaders.
Create your profile
Next up, you can begin to create your profile by providing your basic details.
Pay your deposit
To save yourself a place on Camp Leaders, all you need to do is pay your deposit.
Book your interview
We'll let you know your next steps, answer your questions, and book an interview.

Your interview will be a fairly relaxed chat with one of our friendly National Team interviewers, who've all been to camp themselves.
Complete your application
At this stage, new areas of your application will open up. We'll ask more about your work experience and any skills you might want to teach at camp.
Interview with camp
Once you application and profile is complete it will go live to our camp partners.

If they like the look of your profile they will approach you for an interview (or with our Online Hiring Fairs, you can approach them).

They'll organise a date and time for your online interview. Be prepared, be professional, but most importantly, be you. You've got it.

Get hired
If there's a match after your interview the camp will offer you a placement.

The moment you've been waiting for - you've found your camp; you're going to America!

Fun fact: The average time for someone to find their camp is just 31 days.

Don't worry if it takes longer than you expected or if you don't receive offers straight away. That's normal.
Get your visa
After you're hired it's on to everything you need to get prepared for travel. Insurance, flights and the all important visa.

You'll have a quick interview at your local American Embassy to get your official J1 Cultural Exchange visa to the USA.

We’ll be there to help you every step of the way, whether preparing your documents before or guiding you on the day.

Complete your online preparation course
You'll have the opportunity to get to know our team and learn everything you need to know for your summer camp experience in America.

We'll cover essential topics like packing tips and the visa application process, ensuring you're fully prepared and confident for your time at camp. Plus, we'll answer all your questions along the way.

The final step is what you've been waiting for... fly to America on the adventure of a lifetime.

With all the preparation behind you, it’s time to dive into new experiences, explore iconic destinations, and create memories that will last forever.

You can now list your work experience, education, and any skills you might want to teach at camp.

At this stage, new areas of your application will open up for you to complete, and you can upload all of your completed documents (like police checks and references).

With your application live, summer camps from around America will approach you for an interview (or with Hiring Fairs, you can approach them).

They'll organise a date and time for your online interview. Be prepared, be professional, but most importantly, be you. You've got it.

Get hired
The moment you've been waiting for - you've found your camp; you're going to America! This can take anywhere from 24 hours - 3 months. The average time for someone to find their camp is 31 days.

Don't worry if it takes longer than you expected, it happens. After you've confirmed your place, we'll confirm your flights, insurance, and other details.

Get ready for camp at a fun and informative session - and meet others who are going to America this summer with Camp Leaders.

We'll run these sessions between March and May to make sure you're ready for your American adventure.

Congrats on all your hard work; all that's left is to do is enjoy it! Hop on that plane and let the good times roll.

You won't be flying alone as our staff Facebook group will allow you to connect with others, so you'll make new mates before you even arrive.
