Terms and Conditions
1 - The promoter is: Smaller Earth Limited (company no. 03859099)] whose registered office is at 17 Mann Island, Liverpool, England, L3 1BP.
2 - The competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or over, excluding employees of Smaller Earth (and their associated brands), national team members or those contractors associated with Smaller Earth, their close relatives, and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
3 - No entry fee or purchase is necessary to enter this competition.
4 - By entering this competition, an entrant indicates their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
5 - Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via Camp Leaders official Instagram account (@campleadersofficial), with the exact competition post available here. The official Meta/Instagram businesses are in no way affiliated with this competition.
6 - Entry details include following @campleadersofficial Instagram channel, liking the official 25-Year Anniversary competition post (available here), and tagging two friends in the comments. Participants can enter multiple times by tagging two friends each time. Not completing all of the above steps will void the entry.
7 - A person can enter the competition multiple times by tagging two friends in the comments each time.
8 - The closing date for entries will be December 16th, 2024, at 14:00 (GMT). After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted. The winner will be announced on December 17th, 2024.
9 - No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
10 - Smaller Earth Limited shall have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.
11 - Smaller Earth Limited also reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control.
12 - The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. The promoter will notify entrants of any changes to the competition as soon as possible.
13 - The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
14 - The prize is a placement on the 2025 Camp Leaders program, with return flights booked once the applicant is placed at a summer camp and Camp Leaders merchandise of 2 t-shirts and 1 jumper. If the competition winner is already registered for the 2025 Camp Leaders program, he/she/they will have their program fees refunded and any remaining costs paid off.
15 - The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. These prizes are provided by third parties and we cannot claim any responsibility or liability for any changes made to the products by the relevant providers.
16 - The prize does not include airport departure or government taxes, spending money, airport transfers, travel insurance, criminal background checks, the U.S. Visa Application (MRV) Fee, medical health checks, or any other expenses. The prize winner must pay for all of these.
17 - The winner will also be subject to the terms and conditions of any third-party providers/prize providers.
18 - The prize winner is responsible for ensuring their ability to travel to their holiday destination and return. This includes but is not limited to:
- Ensuring that they have a valid passport endorsed with all relevant visas and with expiry date no less than six (6) months following the proposed travel dates or such other duration as may be required by any relevant regulation. These passports, and their holders, must not be subject to any restrictions on their rights to travel to/from the applicable country and potential transit countries (passport control and in-country authorities may reserve the right to refuse entry to the prize winner).
- They must also check any travel advisories issued by the Government and determine whether they wish to accept the risk of travelling to the holiday destination; and obtain any inoculation and comply with any health regulations required by the prize destination country
- Comply with the terms and limitations of airlines, other transport providers, and the venues involved in providing the prize, including any insurance policy relating to the holiday. In particular, entrants must comply with all health and safety guidelines, instructions, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
19 - We will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered by any prize winner that arises out of their failure to arrive at any holiday destination or return home from any holiday destination, nor will we have any obligation to substitute an alternative prize, cash equivalent or other compensation where a prize winner is unable to travel to the destination or fails to redeem a holiday prize for any reason.
20 - Winners will be chosen by a random comment-picking generator. The drawn name will then be double-checked to ensure the winner entered the competition correctly and followed the terms and conditions.
21 - The winner will be notified by email and/or DM on Instagram and/or letter within 14 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
22 - The promoter will liaise with the winner on how the prize will be booked and distributed upon claim. Once booked, the Promoter is not responsible for any changes or alterations made by third parties.
23 - The departure date for the redeemed prize must be no later than 20th June 2025. If the prize winner cannot make any dates in this timeframe, they must inform us within 1 month of being declared the winner and an alternative winner will be chosen.
24 - Obtaining time off work and/or study or related activities to participate in the Competition prize will be the sole responsibility of each entrant.
25 - The promoter’s decision regarding all matters related to the competition will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
26 - The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
27 - The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
28 - The winner’s name will be available 28 days after closing date by emailing the following address: info@campleaders.com
29 - This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, any other Social Network, any airline or other business. You are providing your information to Smaller Earth Limited and its associated brands and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found at https://www.smallerearth.com/uk/privacy-policy.
30 - A failure by us to enforce any one of the terms and conditions in any instance(s) will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any entrant or prize winner, nor shall it be deemed to be a waiver of any of our rights in relation to the same.
31 - Except as specifically set out herein and to the maximum extent permitted by law, all conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law are hereby excluded.
32 - To the fullest extent permitted by law, we hereby exclude and shall not have any liability to any entrant or prize winner in connection with the Competition howsoever caused, including for any costs, expenses, forfeited prizes, damages and other liabilities, provided that nothing herein shall operate so as to limit or exclude our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence.
33 - In the event that any provision of these General (or any Specific) Terms are held to be illegal, invalid, void or otherwise unenforceable, it shall be severed from the remaining provisions which shall continue in full force and effect.
34 - Any individual found to be entering the competition using, or suspected of using, bots or automated systems to increase their chances of winning will be disqualified from the competition.
35 - To enter the competition, your availability must align with the program dates, starting from June 20th and lasting for a minimum of 73 days, or from your specific camp start date as determined by Camp Leaders.
36 - All participants must successfully pass a police or equivalent background check in their respective country to be eligible for the program.
37 - Participants must be approved for travel by their respective Camp Leaders country team. This approval process includes, but is not limited to:
- Successfully passing a police check or background check.
- Completing any required medical checks.
- Passing the official Camp Leaders interview process.
38 - If you are selected as a winner of the program, you must:
- Actively collaborate with the Camp Leaders support team in your country to prepare for your placement and hiring process.
- Complete all required online documents and applications by the specified deadlines.
39 - The program is non-transferable. You may not transfer your spot to another individual or enter the competition on behalf of someone else.
40 - Anyone entering the competition must meet the eligibility criteria for their region. These criteria can be found on your local country’s Camp Leaders website on the summer camp eligibility page.
